County Fair Fun

It's County Fair Week here and we are excited!

Here's why...

1. Our friend Mindee's daughter was riding her horse in competition. We were able to go to her stall and the boys touched the horse's soft nose - so big next to my little guys! Then we watched her compete in English riding - so elegant! You can read all about it on Mindee's fabulous blog - quite a week they've had!

2. Animals everywhere! The boys were in heaven! There are lots of animals being shown - rabbits, chickens, geese, ducks, cows, etc. - but there was also a petting zoo with camels, a kangaroo, a monkey and many more. It was an animal lover's dream!

3. FAIR FOOD. Need I say more? (Ribbon taters - YUM!)

4. Where else are you going to see a tractor made entirely out of CANS. 339 cans to be precise. I love it!

5. It was free! That's right - FREE! I am always up for free entertainment for the boys!

And because of that, we might even head back later this week!

Joshua turned 1...

The best part was lots of time with great friends...

Someday Saturday: 50 States

I like to travel. I don't like to pack - Stephen is REALLY good at that - but I love most everything else about traveling. And I think road trips are fun. Not always - ok, rarely - with kids as young as ours. But still - I think they are fun.

So someday...

I would like to to be able to say we took our kids to all fifty states.

I just love the idea of seeing the whole country. I am a sight-seer. I love history. I think every state has something for us to enjoy.

I know this won't mean much to the kids until they are much older, but it sounds lovely to me. And I hope someday they will think so too.

Or just think it was cool.

(For the record, they have officially been to five. They're young.)

Mommy-Son Date Night

Less than two hours after returning from our weekend away, Jeremiah and I went on a date to a local minor-league baseball game. Our first official "Mommy-Son Date Night" I suppose! I hope there are many more to come :)

And by the way, I actually do LOVE sports of almost any kind so going to a baseball game was perfect. I love having boys!
