One step at a time...

Joshua started at the bottom of the stairs, with Daddy close behind...
Jeremiah joined the fun...

And Joshua made it to the top of the stairs to see Mommy - with almost no help from Daddy!

What a workout!

I love these boys!

Standing Man

We're in trouble now! Joshua is pulling himself up on everything now and even crawling up on to the platform at the bottom of our stairs. He is very proud of himself as you can tell by the smile on his face in the last picture :) Jeremiah loves to tell me every time he sees it happening: "Mommy, Joshua's standing!!!"

Faith like a...

91 year old?

Last Sunday, I watched a 91-year-old man give his testimony in front of our church and get baptized. He said he didn't want to wait another day to make a public declaration of His belief in Jesus and total surrender to Him. That may seen like an obvious statement coming from a 91-year-old person who might not have much time left on this earth, but to me it was very bold and it brought me to tears.

You see, I have watched many people, especially "church" people, grow older and become more and more set in their ways. Because they are "mature" Christians, they are always praying for others, discipling others, and so on, but not necessarily taking stock of their walk with the Lord. They are unwilling to admit their failures or lean on anyone else, let alone publicly declare it.

This man has been a Christian for most of his life, but yet he felt the need to come before the church in obedience to his Heavenly Father. And to tell you the truth, based on my experiences, this would be the last thing I would expect to see someone doing at age 91 - admitting his failures and need for Jesus in front of all of us.

And that's why it touched me so much. Because if, at age 91, this man can stand in front of us as a long-time Christian and take these bold steps because of his love for and obedience to the Father, then that's what I want.

Faith like a 91-year-old. For the rest of my life.

But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.

Growing Up

Jeremiah is growing up. Only a month away from turning three, our conversations have definitely become more interesting. I updated the "Jeremiah's Quotes" section of the blog to reflect this new "maturity," so check it out! He keep us entertained and on our toes :)

My computer dream come true...

He did it!

I am currently writing this on my brand new laptop - a birthday present from my most wonderful husband! I was absolutely stunned and speechless - I had no idea! I got it a week early so he could get it all set up while he is on spring break. So awesome!

So, I can actually keep this thing updated now...although I will need to limit myself so it doesn't take over my life!

I must go back to playing with my new fabulous computer now...while sitting on the couch!

I LOVE IT!

Zoo fun with the fam!

We headed to the zoo today and we could not have had better weather! In fact, we were all a little warm most of the time! We met my sister and her friend there and had a wonderful time! It was so great to have family time, especially since spring break is almost over.

It is so fun to watch the boys checking out all the animals. Jeremiah's favorites were the lions, sharks, monkeys and penguins, of course. Joshua was fascinated by the penguins swimming around - just like his daddy!

This gorilla took a liking to Jeremiah.

Watching the jellyfish - really cool!

Jeremiah asked if we could go back after nap :)

A Day at the Park

We had a picnic lunch at the park, went home for naps and came back later to play. It was glorious! Daddy even met us to play in the afternoon! Can't wait for more days like this!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
"I've got your pot of gold right here"

Irish rock star!

Happy St. Patrick's Day from our family to yours!

Fun in the February Sun

Last Wednesday, the weather was absolutely gorgeous here so the boys (Jeremiah, Joshua and their friend Zeke) and I headed to the backyard for some outdoor fun. The boys played on the slide, raced to and from the house and watched the airplanes flying overhead. The time went by way too fast! I want that weather back!
